Syariah Court expertise
Experienced in both courts — Syariah and Civil.
Most Muslim family matters in Singapore run on two tracks: the Syariah Court for the divorce itself under the Administration of Muslim Law Act (AMLA), and the Family Justice Courts for ancillary civil questions like custody, child maintenance, and civil-side asset issues. We act on both sides so you don't end up with two half-done cases.
Types of Syariah divorce
Talak (divorce by the husband), Khuluk (divorce on redemption initiated by the wife), Fasakh (annulment on specified grounds), Tafriq (judicial divorce), and Taklik (breach of marital stipulations).
Ancillary matters under Muslim law
Nafkah Iddah (maintenance during the iddah period), Mutaah (consolatory gift), Hadhanah (custody), and Harta Sepencarian (division of matrimonial assets acquired during the marriage).
Faraid and wasiat
Muslim wills are drafted up to the 1/3 portion permitted to Muslim testators; the remaining 2/3 passes by Faraid shares. We draft wasiat, apply for Faraid certificates, and administer Muslim estates.
ROMM and kadi coordination
Registry of Muslim Marriages (ROMM) filings, re-marriage approvals, kadi coordination, and certificate corrections. For conversions and interfaith matters, we liaise with Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS) where needed.
